I googled Ospreys in Danger the other day and was a bit surprised by what I found. Images of the striking brown and white bird of prey were evenly matched with images of the V-22 Osprey. It’s an intriguing aircraft – a combination of helicopter and turboprop that can transition smoothly from forward flight to hover. The prototype was built in 1983 and the V-22 was finally deployed to Iraq in 2007, Afghanistan in 2009, Haiti in 2010 and the Philippines in 2013. Apparently there are issues with the V-22 Osprey, though. My feathered friends aren’t the only ospreys in danger.
